Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Excellent game! The battles are very fun, and the game makes you play a little bit with each character, which I liked. Equipping weapons and Materia is not as boring as it first seems. Also, I didn't have to grind much because I mainly focused on the main story, and I rarely felt under-leveled.
The final chapters and the ending are amazing, even though the story can be confusing at times. From what I remember, the game feels faithful to the original PS1 version. For context, I've never beaten the 1997 original game - I remember finishing the first disc and stopping in the middle of the second, though I don't remember why I stopped.
However, there are some things I didn't like. Some puzzles and side quests feel silly and unnecessary. For example, Cait Sith's box puzzle in Chapter 11 is mandatory, but it's just slow and time-consuming, not really challenging or fun. Also, there are some silly tasks in the game (it's a Japanese game, so I expected that, haha).
The story is good but sometimes too complex. I got lost in some parts and only fully understood the ending after watching an IGN explanation on YouTube. Another issue is the background music: it's too loud, and I had to lower it in the settings just to hear people talking.
The game is very long, which can be good or bad. It took me 73h to finish, but I only played a little each week because of work, kids, and life. This made the game feel even bigger. I did some side quests and explored the world, but I wasn't a completionist. In the end, even though I loved the game, I didn't feel like playing again. The same happened with FF7 Remake: I finished the story but didn't go back for extra content or trophies.
Overall, it's a great game. If you liked FF7 Remake, you'll probably enjoy this one even more!
