Astro Bot

Undoubtedly one of the best 3D platform games I've ever played, sharing the top spot with my all-time favourite, Mario Odyssey. I've been a fan of Astro Bot since its humble beginnings in "The Playroom" (a launch title for the PS4), and this new game doesn't disappoint. While some reviewers have criticised the game's length, I disagree. Its duration is just right; stretching it further would risk making it boring.
The graphics are stunning, with beautifully environments that invite exploration. The soundtrack, while not breathtaking, give us a pleasant mix of new tracks and familiar ones from previous games. Like in Astro's Playroom, it uses the DualSense controller features way better than any other PS5 game I've tried so far.
Earning the platinum trophy was a delightful experience. After completing all the levels and rescuing every bot and puzzle piece, I found the remaining trophies to be relatively easy to get, only taking around an extra hour - though I'll admit that I needed to check out YouTube for a couple of them!
One frustration is that the game isn't compatible with PSVR2. I can't help but wish it could be enjoyed in virtual reality as well, especially after the amazing Astro Bot Rescue Mission on PSVR1. Perhaps a future DLC? One can dream! Overall, Astro Bot is a delightful adventure that everyone should experience.
